I Praise and thank God for whom He is, because without the protection of his love I wouldn’t be here today. Although I grew up with a Christian mother, I only went to church to make her happy. I lost my father early in life, so I figured to make mom’s life easier, I would do as I was told, except of course, accepting Jesus as my personal Lord and savior, which should have been a priority! I would go to church almost every Sunday, and sometimes bible classes during the week but unbelievably remained in sin. I was just warming the benches! My mom often said “you keep coming until God arrests you”.

I wish I had given my life to Christ then, but when I finally did a few years ago, it was the most important and the smartest thing I ever did! I have the joy and peace that compare to nothing, my only regret is that I haven’t been serving God all my life but it’s not too late, because I now know the worst thing that could happen to me would be living a life outside of the protection of Christ’s love.

Jesus has not only saved me, he also saved my husband and daughter, who is being taught early enough about Jesus just like my mother did with me! He miraculously saved my husband who was a Muslim when we met. Ironically, I was taking him to church after we met even though I was not a born again Christian, but after I got saved I started praying for him day and night and it finally happened, he gave his life to Jesus, and even got baptized last year!

Although we are still striving for God’s perfect will in our lives, it is sometimes hard to abide by it, nevertheless it’s a beautiful thing knowing that God would never leave us stranded because He does what He says he would do, we just need to follow his lead. There have been bumps along the way but he faithfully makes ways of escape for us.

I thank God everyday for my church, imagine how He works! I attended a few fellowship meetings at Potters house in Nigeria, obviously seeking God without knowing it, the church was just about getting started then. Moving to Belize 13 year later, imagine my excitement when I saw Potters house on American Blvd as we were passing through looking for a church to attend, I immediately told my husband to stop! And we have never looked back since March 2008. God put the right people in our lives like Pastor Matt and Sister Blanca Spachek, they lovingly and patiently guided our growth; this has now been gladly taken over by Pastor Dan and Sister Melissa Canonge. I can’t wait to see how God would use us all to win Belize for Jesus! Belize does need Jesus.
